The very exact meaning of JOY KOINONIA is “The fellowship of the people bought by the precious and healing blood of Jesus Christ that he shed on the cross at Calvary.”

It literally means delight and happiness but JOY Koinonia relates the joy that we get from Jesus. St. Paul describes in his letter to first Corinthians 6:20 “you are not your own; you were bought with a price so glorify God in your body.” Therefore we are bound to lead our lives in Jesus. JOY is abbreviation of Jesus Owns You. It shows that Jesus bought us with His blood. So He is master and architect of our life and designs us for everlasting joy and life. So JOY Koinonia intends to bring people closer to Jesus and try to build a true faith in Christians.

Fr. James is the founder and chairman of JOY Koinonia Pakistan. Since the day of his ordination as a priest. He felt a strange spiritual move of Charismatic push, so he started work to promote the people of God Charismatically so that they may always live in Him, worshipping singing and praising of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.

Fr. James spare no time, no efforts to infuse the prayerful worship among people entrusted to Him. He uses all the talents that he has been gifted with by our Lord Jesus Christ, such as melodious voice, excellent skill in music, poetry, and knowledge of the Word of God. God has given him an impressive style to present and share the God’s Word with people in a way that people can follow. Jesus changes life of many through his spiritual motivation. He has brought a good deal of change among people through his unceasing efforts.

Fr. James was stationed for three years in Sargodha Church. His work there in the church was quite appreciable. Later, he was transferred to Wah Cantt where he served for eight years. The blessing of Holy Spirit kept on growing abundantly and he led his people to the prayerful life. He visited Rawalpindi church once a week to share Charismatic prayer. Many of his heart-warming books and rhymes are on the screen and people are greatly benefited to enjoy his sincerity and relation to the church. His writings too enlights the people’s mind to follow Jesus in response.

He participated in the Intl. Charismatic Seminars. He was greatly blessed to keep his work unabatedly. He was a greatly impress by Fr. Aliah from Malta, who visited Rawalpindi twice on the invitation of Fr. James Shamaun. People present at church and at houses were greatly blessed, miracles happened during the Healing service conducted by Fr. Aliah and Fr. James.

Fr. James with many talents of Holy Spirit. One of the remarkable gifts is strange tongues, was appointed as Parish Priest of Cathedral, Rawalpindi. He continued the same spiritual style of worshipping here too. He still maintains the same Charismatic standards and people join him daily. He has a host of Charismatic prayer warriors. Fr. James is a priest of high caliber. He is not popular in catholic circle but also in other churches. He is the priest of all the churches in Pakistan. All the churches are proud of him when he leads the prayer meeting of different churches. Now he is not only a Priest of St. Josephs Cathedral but the metropolitan and inter-diocese priest because he ministers meetings, hold seminars and give sermons wherever he is invited he has spiritual weapons to defeat devil and to give glory to God.

Fr. James enjoys a busy life. He offers the Holy Mass quite early. Though it is early but many people attend it. Daily at 8:00, he invites all the employees of the Cathedral. They worship together and share the Word of God. It is a pleasure that this group go through Bible twice a year. Apart form employees many other people attends this prayer. He remains in fast to receive the vigorous anointing of Holy Spirit and many big miracles occur through him.
